Kings Lose!

Even with the zebras (referee’s help) the Kings can’t be the Stanley Cup Champions.  Ref’s called a non-existent elbow on Corey Perry in the fleeting minutes of the last period to send the game into overtime.  Kings still couldn’t make anything happen.  In the end, J.S. and McDonald come through to win the game in the shootout.  The referees need to pay more attention and only make the calls they are sure of.  This was a terrible call and should not have been made.

NHL to move to bigger goals?

Larger nets means that Luongo will retire according to this article from Canada.com.

Ducks 5, Canucks 0

img_4224.JPGTonight Michelle, David and I all attended a Ducks Pre-season game.  We had a great time.  We kept trying to get better seats and got kicked out of them about 5 times.  But I did over hear a conversation about Teemu.  This lady was telling her friend that she doesn’t think Teemu will come back based on converstations she had had with him.  He didn’t say straight out that he wasn’t coming back but he did say that he missed his family, his wife was pregnant and he liked the fact that his golf game was getting better.  I guess because he has more time to play.  He said the hard part is giving up something you like so much.  The  Canucks were very bad losers, starting many fights.  It was strange to watch a game where Selanne and Neidermider did not play.  I hope at least one of them comes back this season.  Hockey officially started for me tonight.  I bought a puck that says “Stanely Cup Champions 2007” on it and a pennant that says the same thing.

Scott and Teemu

Scott just spoke to reporters (10:30am) about retirement and said he is STILL undecided.  We still have yet to hear from Teemu Selanne on his retirement plans as well.

“Burke also is hoping to meet with winger Teemu Selanne soon. The 37-year-old winger is an unrestricted free agent and also hasn’t yet decided his playing future. Selanne arrived in Anaheim from his native Finland on Tuesday. Burke protected himself in early July in case Niedermayer and Selanne did not return, signing defenceman Mathieu Schneider and winger Todd Bertuzzi.” via London Free Press

Canucks unveil new jerseys

“The Vancouver Canucks will play with a new look this season that appears to acknowledge the hockey club’s history as well as its hopes for the future.”

We are going to a Canucks game when they play the Ducks in a Pre-season game next month.

Ducks Lose Penner, Gain 3 Draft Picks

Penner gets raise!  $450,000 to 4.25 Million a year!  Not bad for a rookie!  We will miss Penner and blame Lowe.
